The IGCSE programme at The Shishya Jigyasa Academy (Grades 9-10, ages 14-16) empowers students with a rigorous, flexible Cambridge curriculum spanning 14 subjects offered by the school, blending deep subject knowledge with practical skills for global success.

About

Building seamlessly on Lower Secondary, it prepares learners for AS/A Levels through externally assessed exams, fostering critical thinking, adaptability, and real-world application. Students select 7-9 subjects across five groups—Languages, Humanities, Sciences, Mathematics, and Creative/Vocational—tailored to interests and future pathways, with core options like English, Math, and Sciences alongside electives such as Economics, Art & Design, Enterprise or Computer Science.

Core learning Areas

Cambridge IGCSE emphasizes inquiry, analysis, and evaluation across diverse disciplines. The school offers subjects from the following disciplines:

    Languages: English: (As a First Language), English Literature and options like French or Hindi for communication mastery in a second language.

    International Mathematics: Core/Extended levels building theoretical and applied computational skills in algebra, geometry, probability and statistics.

    Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, with lab-based investigations. TSJA prepares children for the Practical Paper in each Science (not Alternative to Practicals). *We do not do Coordinated Science*

    Creative & Vocational: Art & Design, Enterprise, Computer science, Economics & Accounting for innovation and enterprise.

Assesment & Preparation

  • External exams at the end of Grade 10 award grades A -G, recognized by top universities in India and worldwide, with coursework options in many subjects for holistic evaluation. TSJA's thematic projects and experience of the Lower Secondary Checkpoint from earlier stages ensure confident, well-rounded IGCSE performers ready for advanced studies.
  • In addition to the subjects chosen by each student, the school offers a range of opportunities to children to build skills of value in the real world - Money and Finance, Cryptocurrency and AI, and soft skills like Debating, Public speaking, Presentation and Elocution.
